Zahra Youssouf Kayad
Technical Advisor and Gender Specialist for the US Education Development Center
She holds a Postgraduate degree (DESS) in Social Development Strategy from the ‘InstitutSupérieur de l’ActionSociale (ISAS)’ of University of Lille 3, a Masters in Sociology, from the University of Charles de Gaulle Lille 3 and a Bachelor degree in Sociology, majoring in Social Development at the University of Perpignan.
Mrs. Kayad is currently a Technical Advisor and Gender Specialist for the US Education Development Center (EDC) with the Djibouti Workforce Development Program (project) financed by USAID.
Before her current position, Mrs. Kayad was an adviser at the Prime Minister’s office.
From May 2011 to May 2016: She was the Secretary of State under the Prime Minister, in charge of national solidarity, in the Government of Djibouti.
She was the Director of Social Development at the Djiboutian Agency for Social Development (ADDS).In charge of the social development component of the Urban Poverty Reduction Program for the City of Djibouti and the interior regions (PREPUD) financed by: the World Bank, the African Development Bank, the French Development Agency and the Islamic Development Bank.
Her large experience includes being a part time lecturer at the University of Djibouti at the Faculty of Law, Economy and Management where she taught: Sociology of Work, Organizational Sociology, and Contemporary Sociology.
Mrs. Kayad has been a consultant on several projects.
